Wizard War Part Two

Thundarr- YAAAAARRRGGGHH!

SFX- WAM!

Ariel- Hold on Thundarr!

SFX-  WEEOOOO-SZAP!

Skullos- Warriors, attend to
 me! 

Thundarr- Your magic can't touch me wizard!

Thundarr- Let me pass monster!

SFX- WHACK! POP! 

Thundarr- Lords of Light!

Ookla- NRRAAAHHH!

SFX- POP!

Ariel- Thundarr, these monsters aren't alive, they're not even machines! They're creatures of pure magic!

Skullos- Precisely witch!

Ariel- I resent that! I'm a sorceress, not a witch!

Skullos has many means to destroy you!

SFX- ZAP! ZAP! KTHOOM!

Thundarr- Are you mad wizard?! You'll doom us all!

Skullos- No barbarian, only you and your friends shall perish!

SFX- TELEPORTY SOUND!

Ookla- RRRRAARRRRNNGGHH!

 Ariel- Trapped!

Thundarr- No! To the horses!

Ariel- You're not gonna ride up the catwalk!

SFX- KABLOOEY!

Ariel- Whew! We're safe. But where's Skullos?

Ookla- WRRAAR, RAARH!

Thundarr- Skullos is fleeing into the Desert of Demons.

Ariel- Along with his legion of innocent people.

Thundarr- They won't be his legion for long. To the Desert! Ride!

Wizard War Part One

 Inspired by the Thundarr the Barbarian episode "Wizard Wars" from 1981 and all of the work of Steve Gerber, Jack Kirby, and Alex Toth.

 Father- Jeal? Where are you? Come to dinner.Jeal- I'm out here Dad. Hey come look at this...Father- What is it?Jeal- Clouds...or is that smoke? It's blanketing the sky.

Father- Hm... that is strange. Still, I've seen many a strange sky 'round here. I don't think it's anything you should worry yourself over.Jeal- I guess..if you say so.Father-  There now, let's go inside and eat.SFX- Vvvvvrrrrmmmmmnnn 

SFX- Zkow! Zarp! Zeow!

Ariel- Thundarr, that village is under attack!

Thundarr- By a wizard's sorcery no doubt. Ariel! Ookla! Ride!

Skullos- Round them up! Let no one escape! You will now become...mindless warriors...in the legions of Skullos!

SFX- Weeeoooowwwooow!

Skullos- I control you now humans! At dawn...you will do battle...for me!

Thundarr- Fight your own battles wizard!

Thundarr the Barbarian

Here's a pin-up of Thundarr the Barbarian with his best buds Princess Ariel and Ookla the Mok. I'm currently working on an comic book adaptation of the episode "Wizard Wars" from 1981. It was on YouTube at one point so I watched it and transcribed/outlined it and worked from that as a script. In researching the history of the series I discovered that Jack Kirby was the main character and set designer for the series (and it shows). It was Alex Toth, however, who designed the three main characters. Writers on the show included Mark Evanier and Roy Thomas and the series was created by Steve Gerber. I had been trying to find something new to work on and didn't want to do a sample script but didn't want to do something totally from scratch either. So I'm doing this. I already have a good handful of pages done and will be posting those soon.
